I
love the process of coming up with a concept or idea. Usually, I
will do three separate sketches to get a feeling for what the client
might like best. Oftentimes, the final solution is a
collaboration.
Inspiration for my paintings comes from so many places. Usually, it's a
combination of childhood memories, browsing in bookstores and card
shops, a walk on a snowy day or at the beach. Lastly, I look through my art reference file
at pieces I've collected for their wonderful color combinations or other
design ideas.
Once the sketch is worked out, I then work in liquid acrylics, layering
the colors for added depth. Sometimes I add a little colored
pencil for texture. In every painting, I strive to create a
focused concept with a luminous, magical quality.
